Gomez: It’s Crunch Time In Title Race
After Saturday’s late kick off 1-0 win over Norwich Joe Gomez reiterated that it’s “crunch time” for the pursuit of trophies this season and in particular the long awaited Premier League title.
Sadio Mane came off from the bench to secure all three points for Liverpool scoring in the 78th minute which proved to be the vital only goal in the game.
This latest win puts the title leaders a massive 25 points clear of City and continues the quite remarkable feat of 10 clean sheets in the last 11 league fixtures. One Australian sports betting site was reported to have already paid out on bets backing the Reds for the title.
Gomez has been in impressive form since coming back from injury and is now a main stay in Liverpool’s formidable back four partnership keeping the likes of Matip on the bench since his return.
Here’s what Gomez had to say about the tough conditions in Carrow road;
“It was difficult. Obviously the wind isn’t pleasant when jumping for balls in the air and so on, but both teams had the same thing. They had it in that direction first half and we had it in different ways in the second. It’s just part and parcel. Obviously it’s not comfortable at times and you can misjudge things but it’s part of the game and we both had to deal with it.”
With a flurry of games coming up Gomez is looking to continue his impressive form in helping Liverpool battle on all fronts for silverware this season. Online soccer betting sites seem to agree, as the odds continue to shorten not just on the prospect of league success but on the Reds picking up additional silverware too.
