Giovanni van Bronckhorst Lands New Role Following Liverpool Exit

Following the recent coaching reshuffle at Anfield, Giovanni van Bronckhorst has quickly found his next managerial role. The Dutchman is officially set to return to familiar territory by taking charge at Feyenoord.

The move sees Van Bronckhorst heading back to the club where he already holds legendary status. Having enjoyed two highly successful spells there as a player before leading them to the Eredivisie title during his previous stint as manager, his appointment brings a welcome sense of stability to De Kuip.

The departure of Arne Slot, which paved the way for Andoni Iraola to step in ahead of the coming campaign, also saw a number of departures from the backroom team, including van Bronckhorst. Getting the sackings out of the way almost as soon as the season reached its conclusion has allowed former staff members to step straight into promising new opportunities.

The former Reds coach will not be making the journey to Rotterdam alone. Sipke Hulshoff, who arrived at Anfield alongside Slot in 2024, has also departed the club in recent weeks. Hulshoff is set to reunite with van Bronckhorst to serve as his assistant manager, bringing valuable Premier League experience directly to the Feyenoord dugout.

There were rumours that Slot himself was set for a return to his old club, where fans still hold him in the highest of esteem. Ultimately though the choice has been made to opt for the manager’s supporting acts instead, with Slot possibly holding out for the Netherlands national team job set to be vacated by Ronald Koeman following the conclusion of this summer’s World Cup.
