Video: Firmino’s Guard of Honour

Liverpool fans have had almost three months now to get used to the news that club legend Roberto Firmino will depart this summer, and yesterday the day finally came for the Brazilian to make his final Anfield appearance for the Reds.

The 31-year-old departs the club along with James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita, and all four were given a rousing send off after the conclusion of Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, a game which saw Firmino net the equalising goal.

With all but the visiting fans staying in their seats well beyond the final whistle, all four received a great reception. The loudest noise of the evening though was definitely for the player fans have affectionately come to know as “Bobby”, a mark of the legendary status he leaves the club with.
