Pulisic will turn down Chelsea move

Borussia Dortmund star Christian Pulisic will reject a move to Chelsea if there’s a chance he can join Liverpool.

The London club are hoping to beat the Reds to the signing of the young United States international by making first contact with the Bundesliga leaders ahead of the January transfer window.

Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is eager to add Pulisic to his squad in the new year and the Premier League club have tabled an offer – which is lower than the reported £70m fee the German outfit are looking for.

The Italian coach is aware that his side are in a race for a top four spot this season and he does not want to see talisman Eden Hazard head for Spain next Summer without a replacement signed and sealed.

Chelsea have identified Pulisic as the man they want to sign to cover the expected departure of their key man and would like to have a transition period in the second half of the season.

But Dortmund are not willing to do a deal that would see Pulisic leave halfway through the campaign and will only consider agreeing terms on a transaction that would see him remain with them until the Summer.

Liverpool are said to be keeping a close eye on the situation, with manager Jurgen Klopp still intent on bringing Pulisic to Anfield, and are said to be more open to the idea of leaving the move until the end of the season.

Pulisic has stated his desire to play for Klopp in the future and a recent report confirmed that he would prefer to join Liverpool over Chelsea.
