Klopp gives injury update ahead of Burnley clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says that Sadio Mane and Andrew Robertson will need to be monitored ahead of the trip to play Burnley.

The German will take his squad to Turf Moor on Wednesday evening in the next round of Premier League fixtures fresh after Sunday’s 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby.

But he might have to do it without Senegal international Mane thanks to an “awful cut on his foot” picked up in the feisty clash at Anfield at the weekend.

“Sadio and Robbo we need to have another look at today.” he said at his press conference.

“Sadio really had an awful cut on his foot. It needed to be stitched; he is OK but walking around here now in flip-flops and you don’t play in flip-flops!

“That means in this moment he is not ready, but we will see later.

“With Robbo it is not that serious as with Sadio, but we need to have a look.” he finished.

Liverpool supporters will hope that the duo can make it back to fitness in time for the game.
