Liverpool forward Rhian Brewster isn’t close to making a return to action.
That’s the news from Reds boss Jurgen Klopp – who was asked about the teenager during his press conference ahead of the midweek trip to take on Burnley in the Premier League.
“Not that close that we have to talk about it now.” he said.
“He is here, around, he is our boy and gets the best treatment he can get and all that stuff, but it is not that he will start tomorrow or next week.
“There is still a lot of work to do.” he finished.
The England youth international is expected to make his competitive first-team debut for the club this season after agreeing terms on a professional contract over the Summer.
But he is going to have to wait until the second half of the campaign by the look of things, with his appearance on the bench against Crystal Palace last year still the closest he has come to making a breakthrough.
