Dembele asks Barcelona to let him leave
Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele has asked to leave the Catalan giants.
That is the claim being made in an article by Bruno Andrade for Goal, which the journalist reporting that the French youngster wants to make a move away from the Camp Nou.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been strongly linked with a fresh bid for the player he tried to sign back in 2016 when former club Borussia Dortmund pipped him to a deal with Rennes.
It has been reported by Echo writer James Pearce that the German has dropped his interest in bringing the twenty-one year old to Anfield recently, but he is likely to be keeping a close eye on developments despite Andrade stating “there is no concrete interest”.
Dembele, who is a France international, has reportedly struggled to settle into life at the La Liga champions since his switch from Dortmund back in the Summer of 2017.
Senegal international Sadio Mane finally agreeing to put pen to paper on a contract extension at Anfield is likely to see Klopp’s interest in Dembele cool a little more.
But Dembele is clearly a young player with a vast amount of potential and most of the top clubs around Europe will be at least monitoring the situation – even if Paris Saint Germain are favourites to secure his signature.
