This afternoon sees the return of Sami Hyypia to Anfield, and our last pre-season friendly before the league campaign kicks off.

I think with us having played a competitive game just three days ago we won't see our strongest lineup from the start, but I'm hopeful that Suarez, Gerrard & Borini will get some time on the pitch together to help them gel.

I'd also like to see Jack Robinson at left back. We haven't bought anyone else as backup to Enrique as yet - and aren't really being linked with any left backs - so I'd like to see how he gets on with the attacking role that Rodgers likes his fullbacks to adopt.

I'm not expecting a cracker, but it will be nice to see a legend back at Anfield, and I'm sure Sami will get an amazing welcome from the Kop

LFC team: Reina, Enrique, Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Lucas, Shelvey, Gerrard, Downing, Sterling, Suarez

Subs: Carroll, Henderson, Spearing, Adam, Jones, Robinson

--------------------------------------

A weaker team than I was anticipating actually. Shame that Borini isn't playing, I'd have liked to have seen more of him. Same goes for Allen.

It's not a massively weak team IMO, should be capable of producing a good performance

It is a shame that we won't see Borini & Allen, but better to keep them fresh for the league I guess.

I was determined to see Allen play together with Borini.

I'd say that's a strong line up really to say we only played thursday. Suprised to see gerrard in the starting line up. I'll be suprised if he plays more than an hour. Should be a good game!

Was a brilliant free kick, easy tap in for Lucas in the end.

Half time, 2-0. We've looked very good so far, no particular standout performances just a good team effort

We look very good going forward, a few question marks over the defence though. Hopefully the back line will be a bit better with our first choice players

Adam looks short on confidence, lovely opportunity to score & he plays it out wide to Shelvey.

Shite header from Carroll. He is getting stuck in though.

Good turn by Adam and a good one from Carroll too. f**king woeful keeping though. Should have just been scooped up.

Hopefully it will do him good to score though.
