Time to bounce back from our poor showing at the weekend, and fortunately we don't have to wait long to redeem ourselves
I'm expecting a good performance here & a scoreline to match. Preferably keeping 11 men on the pitch as well
Not sure whether to start Agger as he'll have a rest for the City game, or go with whoever's going to partner Skrtel on Sunday to give the partnership a bit of playing time together?
Maybe I'm just being too positive but I think we'll be alright in this one. I'm going to go with 2-0.

If we lose to Hearts i'll be very surprised. I think at the time being the more games the better as our squad desperately needs to learn the system fully as you can see players caught in two minds between Rodger's way or the way they know best and it doesn't really work.

Reina
Johnson Carra Skyrtel Enrique
Shelvey Allen Lucas
Sterling Suarez
Carroll
The only thing is Lucas may rest as returning still from the injury , but really does need more playing time he looked out of sorts, i was thinking Assaidi might get a start but he may not have been training enough to get the start but will be on the bench .Gerrard may get a rest but again he was terrible on sat and may want another run .

yup.. we're all will be suprisse if our red men lose to hearts in upcoming match.. i don't know whats wrong from our red men.. but i think what rodgers doing right now make a very big transisition of behavior what our red men always play.. i hope our redmen can translate what rodgers need in the tactical to get a win win and a win.. Liverpool can win the game but not yet be a winner..

I believe Skrtel and Coates should start together Ed as when Carra plays he moves Skrtel out of position and he looks even shakier than he did on Saturday. Also lets not be kidding ourselves Coates is a lot more useful for the future and a run out against hearts will do him the world of good I was at the Bayer game and he seems to look a lot better defensively than when he player against QPR

Coates and Skrtel at the back for me to give them a game together before the City game, for the same reasons as Ed has already said. At this stage of the season no one should need resting, although it is an opportunity to give some of the fringe players a run out.
I would prefer to see the majority of the first team play as they still need game time together to gel as a unit.
Hearts will be a much sterner test than Gomel in the last round, but I can't see anything but a win over two legs for the Reds. In what is already a sell out game at Tynecastle, and one of the biggest games in their history,I wouldn't be surprised if the Jambos get a draw in the first leg.

I would save some players for the City game on Sunday.
If it is half as frantic and physical as the same fixture last season, they will need the energy.

A better performance is the doctor's order. I think we will take slender lead for the return leg.

I'd go with Coates too, and importantly I'd have Borini or Carroll up front - Suarez should play off the striker, not leading the line. We need to finish all those chances we create, I'm getting
about it now.
And drop Downing! We have to have Sterling or Pacheco there, or Muffin the Mule for all I care, but not Downing.

I agree about dropping Downing, unsurprisingly.
Carroll should start this game.

For those unclear, Assaidi already played in the 3rd QR for Heerenveen so he is cup-tied for the playoff round but not for the group stage. Here's the relevant article from the competition regulations:
18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second, third qualifying round or the play-offs of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage.

Totally agree - carroll as main and the usual two, drop downing or could put stirling in but no downing!
