can i just ask what is this topic about

Some player called Keisuke Honda mate, he is a player we are suppose to be linked with. If true and we do get him hope it turns out like the JS Park move 1st just to boost our fan base out there but actually turns out to be a decent back up player

Any more news on this or is it a rubbish rumour????????

VVV Venlo star Keisuke Honda aware Liverpool scouting him
17.08.09 | tribalfootball.com
VVV Venlo midfielder Keisuke Honda isn't angling for a move to Liverpool.

The Japan international is being monitored by Rafa Benitez's scouts, while a host of other clubs including PSV Eindhoven and Ajax are reportedly keen.

Honda, though, says he is not currently considering a move abroad.

"I was told before the match (with ADO Den Haag) that a scout from Liverpool had come," he said on his personal website last week.

Although Honda would love to pit his skills against the best in England, the 23 year-old believes he is not ready for a move abroad just yet.

"I'm very happy and comfortable with life over here. The people I've met are friendly and I just don't feel out of place," he told Eredivisie Live.

"At the moment, moving to a club abroad is not an option I'm considering."

He would also increase our fanbase in Japan.

Not only in Japan, but Far East and South East of Asia for sure

I've watched all the footage i can find of the guy and he looks good. Moves quite similarly to Christiano Ronaldo (man i hate that guy) but he doesn't have the smarmy attitude.

Assuming that he's available for a reasonable price i'd want him at Anfield. He may not be a necessary addition but with his ability it would be an good venture. I mean, isn't that why we signed Lucas. And this kid looks a lot brighter than Lucas

(no offence to any Lucas fans)

Quote
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson is rumoured to be preparing a January bid for CSKA Moscow playmaker Keisuke Honda.

He has been promised funds to make such a move due to the sales of Javier Mascherano, Albert Riera and Yossi Benayoun during the recent transfer window.

Hodgson had hoped to secure a striker signing before the transfer deadline but failed in his attempts to sign Carlton Cole and Roman Pavlyuchenko but apparently the Anfield manager is also looking to add more creativity to his midfield and is hoping to bring in a player who can supply the ammunition for his threadbare front line.

Keisuke Honda had a successful World Cup and has promising start to his CSKA career but is reportedly considering his options and has expressed his interest in a move to the Premier League. The Russian League ends in the last week of November so the 24 year old playmaker will then be considering his options and whether he wishes to stay in Moscow.

Valued at around £12m Honda was a Liverpool target under Rafa Benitez whilst he the Japanese international was still in the Dutch Eredivisie with VVV Venlo. He has been a target for many of Europe's elite and is admired for his good close control his range of passing and his set piece taking abilities.

I don't remember the source but it wasn't either of the raggy newspapers or Goal I think and I really want this to happen so I'm bloody well posting the rumour.

Roy's Team now so lets see what he can do!
