Yossi Benayoun has agreed terms to quit Liverpool for Dynamo Moscow, according to the Russian club's sporting director.

Dynamo are yet to agree a fee with the Barclays Premier League giants, but hope to settle on £7million before the end of the week.

Despite the 29-year-old being one of boss Rafa Benitez's most trusted players, details of talks between Benayoun's agent and Dynamo emerged last week.

Anfield boss Benitez would be reluctant to lose one of his most reliable performers, but with the Spaniard's own future in doubt, cash-strapped Liverpool may be keen to take the money and target other areas.

They are still looking for a striker to take the burden off injury-plagued Fernando Torres and recently sold Andriy Voronin to Dynamo for £1.2m.

The Merseysiders have already signed like-for-like player Maxi Rodriguez from Atletico Madrid, with the Argentina international able to play on the wing or through midfield.

Dynamo sporting director Konstantin Sarsania said: 'It is true that we have come to an agreement with the player's agent. In the next two days, Liverpool will make their own decision.

New recruit: Rodriguez can play a similar role to Benayoun

'When we completed the signing of Andriy Voronin, consent was given by Benitez. Now the Liverpool coach is against losing Benayoun, but the decision is not his, it is for the club's directors.

'The transfer of Benayoun will happen if the price is acceptable. If they want more than we expect, the board of directors will discuss the issue.'

Israel captain Benayoun was offered a similar move to Spartak Moscow year ago, only to sign a new Anfield deal in the summer.

Dynamo are understood to be offering him a three-year contract, with the option of a fourth year, on terms of about £40,000 a week. The significantly lower tax rate in Russia means he would receive a similar amount as his current deal.

All around the fields, of Anfield road,
Where once we watched the King Kenny play and could he play!
Stevie Heighway on the wing, we had dreams and songs to sing,
Of the Glory round the fields of Anfield Road.

hmm dont no how to react like this, like for like with maxi hmmm to early for maxi to make that comparason imo he played 1 game, yossi has been good for us this season and at times looks like the only person creating anything so i think its a mistake to sell him now....

"But The Kop aren’t stupid. They know that winning the Europa and failing to play in the REAL European League next season is like flirting with Beyonce and ending up with Heather Mills

Manager's can come and go but the unity and everything that goes behind the club is constant."

Indeed, selling Benayoun would be the most utterly idiotic thing we could do, especially for the reported 7 million.

I'm a little concerned that Moscow's people and Yossi's agent are both saying that they've agreed terms, I don't know why he would want to leave.

Does an agreement between the clubs not have to be reached before negotiating a contract with the player?

Think they need permission from the club to speak with them. That generally is not given until the clubs agree a fee.

All smells of Daily Fail bollockology!

Too many blerts to bother with it.

Let's hope so.

Don't think there's anything to stop them talking about hypothetical agreements is there?

Apart from Gerrard and Torres,Yossi is the one player who can make something happen in the oppisition end..He was sorely missed last night when we needed that flair around the Wolves 18 yard box....I cant understand why he wants to go now when he has finally cemented his first team place. But at his age 7 million would be about right.Hope he doesnt leave though

They share bullshit

I'll wait and see if anything comes from it or if it's like the other 99.99% of stories that fill the papers in t/f season.

Personally, I don't want him to go.

Too many blerts to bother with it.

Quote
Reds respond to Yossi rumours

Liverpool have today dismissed reports that midfielder Yossi Benayoun could be set for a transfer window move to Dynamo Moscow.

Moscow Sporting Director Konstantin Sarsania has reportedly claimed agreement has been reached for the Israeli international to leave Anfield, but the Reds have insisted the 29-year-old is going nowhere.

"The player is not for sale, it's as simple as that," said a club spokesman.

All that matters really is the last line/quote.
