Jordan Henderson arrived at Anfield in June 2011 with a growing reputation on the domestic and international scene.
The versatile midfielder rose through the ranks at Sunderland, a club he joined aged seven, making his first-team debut against Chelsea in November 2008.
The second half of his breakthrough season was spent on loan at Championship side Coventry and it wasn't until 2009-10 that Henderson featured regularly for Sunderland, totalling 38 appearances during the campaign and being crowned Sunderland's Young Player of the Year - a title he would retain in 2010-11.
Fabio Capello handed him a Three Lions debut in November 2010 - the same game which saw Andy Carroll earn his first cap.
In the summer of 2011 Kenny Dalglish highlighted Henderson as the type of young hungry player he was looking to bring to Anfield, and signed him for an undisclosed fee - thought to be worth around £20m with add-ons.
Henderson has found first team opportunities limited so far at Liverpool, but he is still developing and will likely be afforded opportunities further down the line.
He netted his first goal for the club in August 2011 in a league clash against Bolton.
