with one returning loan player spoken about today, what would people think about a return to the club for insua? he could save us money and time on a search for a new left back.. with him, fabio and young robinson we could have three there already that could easily get us through the season.. Him like others id like to see how kenny and steve could improve him, i thought he used to get caught down the pitch a bit too often but that could be coached out of him, when to go etc, the turn of his body to get back into position.. I think robinson has the potential to be a great left back in the next 5 years but he does need game time during these years to develop, so bringing in a clichy or enrique might stem his deveolpment..

Thoughts?

I hate him as much as nicho hates aquilani.

I think his contract is up? not sure...

I couldn't stand him, horrid positional sense, couldn't tackle...ugh.

I bet you don't JH.
When he first came into the side i thought Insua was going to be the dogs. I still think he might have been had not been over exposed while still reletively young. At that stage of his career he was only meant to be cover for Aurellio but we all know how much time our glassbacked Brazilian spent (spends) in the treatment room.
I've no idea how Insua's loan period in Turkey went  but if his confidence has been restored and he wants to play for Liverpool again, I wouldn't mind him being given another chance.
BTW JH, before you ask, the big differance between Insua and Aquilani is that Insua hasn't hawked himself round Italy and made silly statements about not wishing to return to LFC.

He only made 12 starts for galatasaary ... Hagi ( the manager said he didn't want loan players playing after Christmas) so not that much football.. Why we never recalled him when their manager said that I don't know.. Seeing as we has no natural lb the second half of the season and a muppet the first half of it..

As you said with insua nicho he was over played at a young age and I don't want to see that happen with Robinson

Personally i would keep him as it will save us time and money but in THAT season where we were complete turd finishing 7th he was both over used and over exposed by whoever was infront of him and during that season he was called up to the Argentina full squad. I think Kenny and Steve can bring the best out in him so i say give him a chance

I'm pretty sure he has a year to go.

Perhaps him coming back is why we have not really hit the market for that position...

If KK thinks Robinson and Insua can do the required job, then I agree...

I think Johnson will be our left back for most of next season.
Although the market is open for 2 months so who knows what Kenny and Commoli have lined up.

Uruguay we love you.

all of the above are true...

I think that players not leaving are affecting what we do..

We do not want to have a bloated squad...

Unfortunately we will have a bloated squad, be they at Anfield or on loan. We have too many players already who will not be in serious contention for a place in the squad, let alone the starting line up. Most of them are unsellable because of their salaries. They won't move for less money when thay can stay here, pick up their kings ransom while doing the occasional training session. The gits would properly even refuse to play for the stiffs.
This is the legacy of previous owners and managers and it will take several years to ship them out.
The good thing is we have an incredibly rich vein of talent in the academy at the moment. Unbelievable as it is in the modern game,in a few years time our starting 11 could be 75-80% full of players that have come through the academy.
