Ward impressed this season in the few appearances he made

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward looks likely to make a loan move to Championship side Huddersfield Town for next season.

The Welsh stopper will drop down the pecking order once Loris Karius completes his move from Mainz this week.

Simon Mignolet, who signed a new contract in January, does not look likely to move on this Summer despite the German’s impending arrival.

That will leave Ward as third choice for next term with Adam Bogdan almost certain to be sold after a dire season at the club.

Huddersfield are managed by former Borussia Dortmund coach David Wagner – who is a good friend of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp is said to be keen for Ward to spend the season working under Wagner in order to get a season of regular first-team football.
