Sunderland have slapped a £30m pricetag on goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
That’s according to a report by the Daily Mail, in which it is claimed that Sunderland are resigned to losing their prize asset this Summer.
The young Englishman has been in fine form this season, despite his club’s relegation, and has attracted plenty of interest from top sides – including Liverpool.
Jurgen Klopp is reported to be considering a move for the England under-21 international following his stellar season at the Stadium of Light.
It seems unlikely that an offer will be made following the return to form of Belgian international Simon Mignolet – who used to play for Sunderland before joining making the move to Anfield in 2013.
Klopp dipped into the transfer market to sign young German keeper Loris Karius last year and Welsh international stopper Danny Ward could also return from his loan spell with Championship side Huddersfield Town this Summer.
So the German is not short of options when it comes to selecting his number one next season.
