Liverpool could be set to reignite interest in winger Mohamed Salah.
The Egypt international was a target for ex-Reds boss Brendan Rodgers back in January 2014, before he decided to make the move to Stamford Bridge to join Chelsea from Swiss club Basel.
Salah struggled to make much impact at the Premier League club, however, and was subsequently loaned to Italian clubs Fiorentina and AS Roma for the following two seasons.
He made a permanent switch to sign for Roma last year and has gone on to recapture some of his best form for the Serie A club this season.
That has seen Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp take notice and the German could make a move for the African this Summer in order to add pace to his attacking options.
But Roma have put a €50m pricetag on Salah, according to Calciomercato, and that could put a move on ice with Klopp reportedly earmarking a large slice of his budget for a new central defender.
Salah would have the same issue as Liverpool winger Sadio Mane in that he would likely miss the new year thanks to the African Cup of Nations every other season.
