Liverpool are set for a transfer battle over Leicester City’s Kasper Schmeichel.
That’s according to the Daily Star Sunday, who are reporting that Arsenal and Manchester City are also closely monitoring the goalkeeper.
Schmeichel was a key part of the side that surprisingly won the Premier League title for Leicester last season.
But the Denmark international has seen the Foxes plummet down the table this season into a relegation battle.
Leicester have reportedly put a £30m price tag on Schmeichel, but that is unlikely to be enough to put off the clubs circling around the twenty-eight year old.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has struggled to identify a number one for the future with neither Simon Mignolet or Loris Karius convincing this season.
Arsenal number one Petr Cech hasn’t looked at his formidable best this season and at thirty-four years of age could be coming to the end of his time as a top keeper.
While City, one of Schmeichel’s former clubs, are keeping a close eye on the stopper as Claudio Bravo continues to struggle to even hold off the challenge from number two Willy Cabalero.
