Van Dijk is reported to be keen on moving to Anfield

Liverpool have made an offer for Southampton defender Virgil Van Dijk.

The first bid is worth £60m and is likely to be rejected by the Premier League club as they reportedly seek closer to £75m.

Van Dijk is claimed to have informed the south coast club that he only wants to leave for Anfield.

The Holland international was the subject of strong interest from Manchester City and Chelsea before they cooled interest once he opted for Liverpool.

Everton are also monitoring his situation, but they have little hope of getting a deal done.

Van Dijk has his heart set on moving to Anfield to become part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

The manager will hope the two clubs can now thrash out a deal.
