Liverpool have made an offer to sign AS Monaco star Kylian Mbappe.
That’s according to Marca, who are reporting that an offer of €75 million was lodged for the teenage forward – before being immediately rejected by the Ligue 1 leaders.
The report claims that Monaco would demand €100 million to allow their young star to make an exit this Summer and it has been claimed that Real Madrid lead the race to snap him up.
Mbappe has become a sensation this season, with his twenty-six goals helping his club to the summit of the French league as well as the Champions League semi-finals.
Rumours are abound that he has decided that he would like to make Spanish leaders Real Madrid his next club, but Manchester United, Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea are all said to be interested.
It seems incredibly unlikely that Liverpool would be able to tempt him out of signing for the La Liga giants – especially with an offer so far off the asking price.
But if there is any truth in this and Jurgen Klopp has made a shock move for Mbappe, it at least shows plenty of ambition. And optimism.
