Liverpool are interested in signing Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly this Summer.
That’s according to various reports this week which claim that manager Jurgen Klopp has identified the Senegal international as a target.
The twenty-five year old has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League leaders Chelsea over the past year or so and Antonio Conte is said to remain keen to take him to Stamford Bridge.
Napoli are also unlikely to do business for anything less than £50m, with reports claiming that they have placed a £60m pricetag on the defender.
Goal are reporting that Klopp has made Koulibaly his second choice behind primary central defensive target Virgil Van Dijk.
The Southampton defender is also likely to attract a hefty price tag with interest also coming from Chelsea and big-spending Manchester City.
Klopp is eager to sign the Dutch international to partner him with former Schalke man Joel Matip next season.
Some of the transfer fee for a new central defender will be raised by the sale of Mamadou Sakho, with several clubs keen to sign him this Summer.
