Kenny Dalglish set for Liverpool return

Liverpool are hoping to bring Kenny Dalglish back to Anfield in an ambassadorial role, according to reports in the Telegraph.

In what would no doubt prove to be a popular move with most fans, the Liverpool legend could be brought back to Merseyside to take up the role he worked in prior to being called on to take over as manager from Roy Hodgson in 2011.

Following his departure from the club last summer, Dalglish gave the impression that he would welcome the opportunity to return to Liverpool in the future.

He said at the time: "I said when first approached about coming back as manager that I would always be of help if I can at any time and that offer remains the same."

Liverpool owner John W Henry also hinted he would have his former manager back, describing Dalglish as 'part of the family'.

Its important that people like Kenny always stay involved in some capacity. I for one will never forget what he did for the football club last year even if some couldn't see it
