Gerrard in Premiership 20 team

Steven Gerrard beat Roy Keane to take a place in supporters' Premier League team of the last 20 years.

Gerrard received 19 per cent of the public votes to join Paul Scholes (26 per cent) in central midfield as the Premier League celebrates its 20th birthday.

Roy Keane collected 16 per cent.

The team selected by more than 300,000 supporters from across the country was:

Fans' XI: Peter Schmeichel; Gary Neville, Tony Adams, Nemanja Vidic, Ashley Cole; Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Steven Gerrard, Ryan Giggs; Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer.

I would have had Campbell and Hyypia over Adams and Vidic.

Some great players have missed out though.

Tony Adams shouldn't be in there, no.

Vidic is an interesting pick too.

The problem with these things is that kids vote mostly - and they obviously have short memories.

Hyypia and Campbell are very good called and should get the nod over Adams but for me Vidic does deserve to be in there. Quality defender but it's a shame he is a manc.

The thing is Campbell and Hyypia were brilliant players for a decade.

Vidic has been a brilliant player for a few years.

Well more than a few years, more like half a decade which isn't exactly a short time and in that time has probably achieved and performed better than either Campbell or Hyypia.
