Liverpool midfielder Cameron Brannagan looks set to leave the club at the end of the season.
The twenty year old is spending the rest of the season on loan at League One club Fleetwood Town after failing to get any first-team action and struggling with injuries.
Echo journalist James Pearce said that the England under-20 international is likely to be moved on by manager Jurgen Klopp in a Q&A session today.
“It’s likely that Brannagan will move on permanently in the Summer.” he said.
“I think he’s got loads of talent and will go on to have a decent career.
“But the fact that Klopp overlooked him in the first half of the season was telling.
“Ejaria jumped above him in the pecking order.
“There was talk of a permanent deal for Brannagan in the January window but that went quiet after he suffered ankle ligament damage in December.” he finished.
Championship side Wigan Athletic bid £1m for him in the Summer and saw the offer rejected immediately. They almost signed him on loan for the campaign but would not commit to demands to play him in 70% of games.
It is a far cry from a year ago when Brannagan was being linked with moves to Real Madrid and Barcelona.
