Ian Wright has talked up Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League this season.

The Reds were romped to a 6-1 victory over Watford at the weekend – a result that sees them move to the top of the table – and haven’t lost a game since their shock defeat by Burnley in the second match of the season.

Along with picking up points Jurgen Klopp’s men have been playing some impressive football, and Wright believes they need to be taken seriously.

“You have to say they are serious title contenders,” he said, speaking to BBC Radio’s Five Live.

“They’ve maintained their form from the start of the season until now. Watford hadn’t conceded in five hours but conceded five in one. Liverpool are very good at the moment. They’re scintillating at Anfield.

“Anyone who isn’t taking them seriously, I think they’re being silly. We’ll have to see how they continue.”

Following the international break Liverpool will travel to Southampton in search of further points.
