Liverpool goalkeeper Adam Bogdan is likely to be allowed to leave the club following the recall of Danny Ward from Aberdeen.
The Hungary international only moved to Anfield last Summer following the expiration of his contract with Championship club Bolton Wanderers.
But reports now claim that Jürgen Klopp, who did not bring Bogdan to the club, is so unimpressed with the keeper that he is prepared to let him move on.
Many fans were calling for Bogdan to replace error-prone Simon Mignolet as the club’s number one before Christmas, but a gaffe in the opening minutes against Watford and then a dire performance at League Two Exeter City in the FA Cup have all but sealed his fate.
Klopp gave a strong indication that his patience had worn thin with Bogdan when he brought Ward back from a very successful loan spell with Scottish club Aberdeen. The Welshman was set to spend the season at Pittodrie, but Klopp recalled him and put him straight on the bench for the 3-3 draw with Arsenal last night.
And it now looks like Ward will be the man to push Mignolet, who made two errors in the game with Arsenal, for the number one spot.
It is unclear whether Klopp will allow Bogdan to leave Anfield this month or if he will wait until the end of the season to end the Hungarian’s short spell with the club.
Bogdan was seen as a potential contender for the gloves when he starred in a penalty shoot-out win over Carlisle United earlier in the season. But many overlooked his poor positioning for the goal scored by the League Two club.
