I love how, every time performance is discussed, somebody always turns it back around to the owners.  Just like it always used to be turned back around to Rick Parry.

The owners are twats, and we need shut of them.  We all know this.

But it's not the owners' fault that we can't summon anything even remotely resembling football against the likes of Wigan or Portsmouth or Sunderland, etc...  It's their fault that we're not competing for the title year in and year out, yes.  It's not their fault that we're in a dog-fight to make the Europa league next season.

Christ, we are in disarray at every position that matters.  I'm so f**king depressed.

Don't think it blames the 'performances' on the owners. It merely points out that current performance is probably not the biggest of our problems right now.

I dunno.

I think that it's trying to say that, due to the owners, we'll not get any better if we make a change, regardless of who we brought it.  I disagree, because I refuse to believe that this squad of players, with some of the planet's best footballers cannot beat the likes of Wigan, Sunderland, Stoke and Portsmouth.

I don't want miracles.  I just want better.

alex i think that the arguement is more that we would have better players then we have now if we had different owners.
therefore we would play a better quality of football.

but i do agree we should be doing better with what we have, rafa and the players both have to take some of the blame, quite a large part of it in fact.

yes we do have arsehole owners but lets not forget, under the same financial restraints, with the same budgets and virtually the same team we had our best season in years, but this season we have the same owners same financial restraints with the same budgets and virtually the same team yet we are bollocks....

raffa could of gone out and spent the 20 mill he spent on aquaman on either a striker or a fit attacking midfielder but he didnt he spent it on a player who had been injured for 6 months and was still injured when he was signed and is still struggleing to find a place in the team with 10 or so games to go,its not about the amount of money its how that money is spent and yes he has signed some cracking players who have improved us but he has also spent millions on donkeys....he has let players leave who could of done a better job than the 1s we have or he replaced them with....

yes its easy to say if he had a blank cheque he could of signed so and so but on past evidence there is also a chance he could spend millions on a another donkey

"But The Kop aren’t stupid. They know that winning the Europa and failing to play in the REAL European League next season is like flirting with Beyonce and ending up with Heather Mills

Manager's can come and go but the unity and everything that goes behind the club is constant."

I get that, BD. I don't think that we'd look incredibly different under different owners, though...

I mean, we do currently have 4 of the world's best at their respective positions - Pepe, Mascher, Stevie G and Fernando - and when you add the likes of Carra, Magic, Yossi, a $20m play-maker and even (an in-form) Kuyt to that spine, we're not doing too bad for talent. And yet, we play like disinterested little girls, week in and week out (and I coach 6 year old girls - I know what I'm talking about!  )

So, while I do get that part about "least of our worries", I feel that's more about off the pitch stuff (new stadium, debts due, future spending, etc...) and not actually relating too much to the on field product.  YET.

Carra - gone soon, Magic - not sure about his defensive qualities, Yossi - to hit and miss for me, Kuyt - his very best is the odd goal only when we are playing well, The lesser spotted Aquilani - wouldnt be surprised if he went back to Italy in the summer..!
So, alls we have lesft is the first ones you mentioned.. not a lot really..!!

thats a bit harsh SB
carra still has a year or 2 in him and when he does go, agger will still be here with skrtel and some of the youngens that look very promising and in the next couple of years we may well buy another CB
agree yossi is a bit hot and cold, better as a sub imo
kuyts very best is much more then the odd goal when were playing well. he has scored countless goals on big staged when hes needed most, he puts in 110% every game and is one of the few players that would just about die for the shirt.
aquilani hasnt had enough time to adapt, hes looked good when hes featured and has only recently fully recovered, lucas and masch are both playing well so you cant just kick them out. i think youll find he comes back next season fresh and ready.

Yeah, maybe your right, I was  abit harsh as you read it, but I am talking about the long term, I love Carra to bits and he is the one player I would love to have a drink with, but facts are facts, he is 32-33 and has one year left I think. I agree about Kuyt giving his all, but ability wise, getting worse - control, passing, influence etc...
Aquilani's ability I did not question, I just said I wouldnt be surprised if he left in the summer, just a feeling I have. Lucas is not good enough to play consistently in a Liverpool 1st team imo, and I never questioned Masch at all, in fact on recent performances I would make him captain.! He and Carra to me are the ones who give their all, not just run around all day ala Kuyt. I really wish Carra was 27 again..then he would be captain.. Gerrard has been an amazing captain, but maybe it is too much for him when the chips are down and the whole team is not performing. Just a thought that sometimes you take the captaincy away from a player and it releases the pressure abit.?

I think there is an awful lot of sense in this. However, I would be careful how you phrase it! Didn't go down well when I suggested something similar HERE

Yeah, Iunderstand what your saying and I agree. Thats why I stated its 'Just a thought that sometimes you take the captaincy away from a player and it releases the pressure abit.?' But, I also think this may do more damage than good after allthe times he has pulled us out of the fire, with Gerrard it may have the adverse effect.. Just dont know on this one. Actually would love to see him be the one to lift the Prem title as captain above anyone else - he deserves it.

This statement is completely false...
