Thought this deserved it's own thread.

For two seasons at least, LFC have been crying for another goalscorer to take the burden off of Suarez/Torres and the likes of Andy Carroll, David N'Gog among others have failed to live up to expectations but is it solved now?

It's always been said LFC are one goalscorer away from the top but know we have Suarez, 20 goals and 7 assists in 27 games this season and Sturridge with 3 goals from just 3 games.

The link-up play against Norwich excites me even more than Gerrard and Torres because they are BOTH STRIKERS, if the team was defending or under pressure, Gerrard would have to be tracking back, but now Sturridge can stay up front, play in Suarez and then he has the speed to make mazy runs and the two of them will be a nightmare to any defence.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the season evolves.

if you are a member of the Kop or on the official forums, can you rate and comment for me?

3 game is early days. 3 goals is a good return and I am very happy he's here. But, we shouldn't judge or add pressure to the lad until at least the end of the season. Let him play his game and we can analyse the team once the season's over.

I'm inclined to think he is the solution we've been looking for. I think we only really need another CD.

Henderson may develop into the creative player we need and the wings are starting to look steady. Wisdom is solid.

I'm always sceptical when our management says "We have the right balance". Because it just sounds like an excuse not to make signings but these days, I'm starting to believe them

We need more than just a central defender - and I don't think we need to do anything more than replace Carra with more cover for Agger and Skrtel.

We need more goals and creativity from midfield.

one game only I know, but there was plenty of goals and creativity from midfield yesterday. Gerrard looked really comfortable for the first time in ages.
Any side can be improved with the right signings but I think we are no longer desperate to sign players. We can wait until the right players become available.

I think you're right in saying that it is just one game. There has not been anywhere near enough in terms of goals and assists from midfield - including the wide area players.

Even Torres wasn't really a goal poacher. I don't think we've had a proper one since, maybe Owen? I'm loving having Sturridge in the side.

The goal against United was the epitome of what we've been missing for so long. And the dummy for Suarez' goal was magnificent.

All around the fields, of Anfield road,
Where once we watched the King Kenny play and could he play!
Stevie Heighway on the wing, we had dreams and songs to sing,
Of the Glory round the fields of Anfield Road.

1 thing i will always regret : we never had the chance to have Suarez Torres upfront

Not the Torres 2013 but the Torres he was just before he left. Because during his last 6 months with us, he was still very good. His fall down began at Chelsea

Torres was as bad for us as he is now for Chelsea in those last few months.

Yeah, I think he has been much worse at Chelsea than at any point here.

Especially when you consider that injuries were a major problem for him when he was here but he has been relatively injury free while at Chelski.

No excuses, just poor form. However Benitez seems to be getting the best out of him

He did. He was crap fo the last 18 months compared to what he was previously. Getting 50 mil for him was robbery. Pity we got mugged by Newcastle.

Three games, three goals. You can't moan at that, either way, although you could argue he could have had 4, or even 5 goals in those 3 games, but still, it's over and done with now. We can't keep on with the "what if's".

I think another 3-4 games or so and we'll have a really strong idea on what Sturridge will do for us. If he can notch another goal or two during the next few games then I'm sure we could probably accurately say that he's what we've been looking for.
