Well, we move on to the 2nd of a trio of very important games... A win at the heamerriods stadium will boost our confidence even more... As long as we show the passion and committment that we showed against Everton, I am sure we will be ok.
I dont think Arsenal are up for the physical side of the game as they the teams that have beaten them this season have bullied them somewhat.. We have to get into them and not let them settle into their passing game. I can really see us winning this one and I hope Rafa goes for the same team except Degen coming in for the suspended Kyrgiakos... I think the rest deserve another go... I can see him playing Aquilani though to try and thread some balls through on the bigger Arsenal pitch..

C'mon reds, a win here will really start to cement that 4th place and give us even more confidence going into the tricky game at Man City.. Another 1-0 win will do nicely.

As I said in another thread, if Arsenal lose tonight, and we beat them this week, we will be just 2 points off 3rd place. Quite astonishing given the difference of the season the two clubs have had.

Need to win this one. If we can win our next 2 games, I think there is no question we will finish 4th or 3rd.

As for team changes, I think the only change for mine is Aquillani in for Kyrgiakos, and move Mascherano to Right Back. He seemed to play very well there against Everton. I doubt that will happen though, as it's a fairly risky move for such a big game. But sometimes, with great risk comes great reward.

Otherwise I'd bring in Degen and Aquillani for Kyrgiakos and Mash.

I think Aquilani and Lucas in the centre against Arsenal will be too light-weight for Rafa, I think Masch (if fit) will deffo be in midfield... If Aquilani comes in then it will be for Lucas.. Degen will keep Arshavin quiet and is fast down the right, it all just depends what level of fitness he has.. Lucas did well against the Everton bully boys and put himself about well, think he will start, maybe Ngog will drop out and Kuyt will be the lone striker

So Arsenal come to Anfield with 1 point from 12 in their last 4 Games, Losses to Stoke, United, Chelsea & draw vs Villa
i think they definitely their for the picking and pick them i hope we will ...

Is it bizarre thinking we can do better than 4th all of a sudden ? I mean Arsenal turned over an 11 point deficit ? we twelve off the top ?

Maybe i'm still high from the Derby Day Delight

It's not unthinkable that points can be dropped this week again:

Everton @ Home vs Chelsea .... Villa host Man United Everybody has got something to
play for not to mention a win over Arsenal for us will drag us up even more ...

Will be a good game me thinks! And I'm positive we can come away with the 3 points! Arsenal didn't seem on great form against Chelsea today! So hopefully we can dominate the game and kick Arse!

Its nice to be important but its more important to be nice!!

2 points behind Arsenal if we win? Sounds good to me. Although I bet that the media don't point this out if happens, even though they'd be more than happy to point out how s**t we are when we're not in the top 4.

All I ask is that we do what we can do to get 3 points. We can then look at the table after Wednesday with a view to the next match

Too many blerts to bother with it.

Play one holding midfielder - Mascherano

Riera on the left and Maxi on the Right. Introduce Ngog and Babel as impact subs.

Best Line-up:

                  Reina
Carragher Skrtel Agger Insua
          Mascherano
Maxi Aquilani Riera
         Gerrard
         Kuyt

i think we could miss the greek here, i know arsenal dont score alot of headers but he just seems to pick up an instant understanding with who ever hes with.
i know agger and skrtel are ment to be "the future" of our defence but they never seem to work to well together.

i think either that line up youve got there solodee will be what rafa puts out though either that or carra CB for skrtel and bring dgen in RB
either way i expect a win.

I'd like to see Degen at Right Back tbh. He's got the pace to match Arsenal and has shown good form when called upon for us (despite what FF9 may think ).

And as SB said, he can definitely do the job on Arshavin, who is our thorn in recent matches with the Arse.

Play like we did on Saturday - and keep eleven men on the pitch this time - and we'll win, I'm sure of it. Arsenal were piss poor yesterday, and unlike Utd or Chelsea who often bounce back with a vengeance they have a habit of letting bad runs drag on - a bit similar to us in that aspect really.

Degen & Riera in for Kyrgiakos & Ngog for me, pushing Kuyt back up top. I don't know what it is about Skrtel this season but he just doesn't give me any confidence in a clean sheet whenever he plays, I think the Gooners could have a field day with him  if he plays like he has in other games this season.

1-0 to us I reckon

Arsenal's defence is very weak and fragile. If Torres was playing, I'd be comfortable in predicting a 0-4 or similar comfortable scoreline. However, he's not, but Kuyt is in great form and has stepped up in his absence in a big, big way.

Time to make it 20 points from a possible 24 since Christmas, and I think we'll do so with a 0-2 victory. Kuyt and Gerrard to score
