We lost 3-1 today against top but we took the lead from a shot from our own half and was only undone by a dubious free kick and one being kicked out of the goal keepers hands. We did play really well and did not let they play at all, and their manager was not best pleased.
I was pleased with their performance and it WILL only be a matter of time before we get the 1st points.

Another difficult game for us as we fell behind fairly early. There way of play was long ball and we didn't cope with it at all. Long throws came in and we fell 2 behind. Their third was a corner deflected in and before we knew it it was 5-0.
The last didn't seem to have the spark they did last week. A few words were said at half time and that seem to fire them up decisions did go against us through out the game and when we conceded a free kick, the wall lined up and as the shot came in it hit the hand of the defender and a penalty was harshly given. Up stepped the kestrels player to take it and it was fantasticly saved by josh who quickly dived on the rebound.
We picked up again getting the ball down and playing it around but we conceded two more towards the end. The final score reading 7-0 to mickleover, There were good performances from most of the team but we need to start from the begining of the game and others need to keep concentration if we are to start collection points which im sure we will soon.

We have finally won our 1st game this season
Conditions were not the best as both teams took the field, the game went from end to end as both sets of players wanted to win this one. It was boulton lane who took the lead through ryan clifford as an oliver williamson shot came back off the crossbar 1-0 up.
Chances came and went for both teams and boulton nearly extended their lead but ryan, daniel and charlie got in each others way but it was sherwin who managed to score as their forward managed to break clear and slot past the on rushing josh to make it 1-1.
Heads were starting to drop but boulton went back on the attack after words of encouragement from the side lines and nearly took the lead straight away from an oliver williamson thunderbolt but it was tipped over by the keeper. Seconds ticking away towards the end of the 1st half then oliver let fly again and it was headed out by charlie but then forced in but olivers original shot had crossed the line to make it 2-1 to boulton half time.
We had been here before against breedon and the lads were well aware of that. We began the 2nd half like the 1st plenty of pressure and it nearly payed off as charlie hit the post and the ball was cleared away. Lots of runs were made by charlie, oliver and ryan from their own half with the ball and nearly ended up with goals each time. The 3rd eventually came when ryan ran from his own half steam rollering past the midfield and defence only to see his shot go straight to the keeper but charlie pounced on the rbound(?5 to charlie from his dad).
It could of been 4 but the crossbar denied us as well as a post. More chances for both teams as sherwin nearly made it 3-2 but a shot by callum thomas that had crossed the line wasnt given . Sherwin took the warning and battled back and got their reward with the help of some poor defending and made it 3-2.
Sherwin tried but boulton went on the attack again and were rewarded late on with another charlie crawley strike(?10 now to him) to make it 4-2 you cold see sherwin very drained after that goal but they didnt give up and got another goal to make it 4-3. Boulton went forward gain but looked a bit shakey in defence but held on for the win 4-3
WELL DONE lads you deserved it 1st of many wins we hope

1st game back from a two week break
With the lads in a fairly confident mood after their win the other week we felt that it was a game we could win. In good conditions the game started and spondon got into their stride and nearly took the lead. Spondon eventually took the lead with a cross come shot sailing over a stranded josh 1-0 spondon. Tackles started to go in from both teams and it was a very good game chances at both ends with spondon nearly extending their lead. Half time came with the score reading Boulton lane 0 spondon 1.
With a good team talk at half time and a slight change to the team liam on for daniel and charlie pushing upfront the colts came out looking to equalise, spondon heaped a lot of pressure on to the colts goal but ryan clifford and christian bates solid as ever they found it hard to break them down. Callum, oliver and liam were all getting stuck in and trying to feed charlie the ball and on the few occasions that it made it's way through to him he gave the spondon defence a tough time.
With time running out for the colts oliver unleashed a shot which look destined for the back of the net when the spondon keeper at full stretch to keep it out. Spondon came forward and josh bravely came out at the feet of the spondon forward and was hurt, but he managed to pick himself up and carry on.
That seem to fire up the rest of the team and it was the colts turn to put pressure on the spondon goal but that elusive goal never came final score Boulton lane 0 spondon 1.
Never mind lads you all played very well and did deserve at least a point.
This was a really good game to watch and disapointed to come away with nothing, but its the cup next week for us.
