Just saw this thread and got excited when I saw 55 pages of replies, but it's dead now I watch the mighty brisbane roar (aka the team with a new starting 11 every season). Sad when new players and transfers out are barely spoken of, hard for me to keep following it. Love going and sitting in the den though at home games.7000 strong :P I remember going to watch the game wearing my pool shirt and fowler was playing for fury against us, I got ripped into that night. I stood proud :P

Good to know there is another A-League fan here

Brisbane Roar have got to be the most unpredictable team in the competition for a reason you already stated - they are always changing their bloody line up!! An experts nightmare team

It annoys me soo mcuh because I see amazing talent coming through and bam they are suddenly gone. What makes it worse is when it's to melbourne or sydney. Fair enough if you are going to move to europe to get into the national team, but to leave us for melbourne is like a knife in the heart. I try really hard to get into it but it's just not the same. I miss Liam reddy and Tommy Oar.
Last season we got a cheeky look from sergio van dijk because we made up a lovely chant for him as follows

Sergiooo van dijk,
he used to be f***ing shite
now he scores twice a night!

The originality of a-league fans never ceases to amaze me, all chants are either just claps or mimmics of the european giants chants. Highlight for me so far is when celtic came to play roar, sat in the middle of 20 thousand celtic fans yelling out our love for liverpool, the manc lovers enjoyed that. Did enjoy the YNWA at the start of the game, although I wish it wasnt for such a shocking team :P I'd die if liverpool came to Australia.

another highlight for me is that brisbane roar comes and plays my cities team, peninsula power, in pre season. Go down to the feild with a 50 seater stand, grass hill on the other side. We stand behind the dug outs and sing the songs of the former greats of Brisbane roar :P

ooooooohhhhhhhh
tommy tommy tommy tommy oarrrrr

he gets the ball,

he shoots and scoresss, oarrr

Tommy Oar is an incredible player mate. He is going to make it BIG BIG BIG BIGGGGGGGGG!! Won't be surprised if he's at a big European club one day. His skills and ability are outstanding.

Haha he sure can

What a game last night between Sydney and Melbourne. Brilliant Grand Final rematch.

Finished 3-3 when it looked like Sydney were headed to a certain 3 points after having a 2-0 lead in the 63rd minute until Melbourne Victory went bang, bang abd bang once again to go ahead 3-2 with an epic 7 minute burst. Shannon Cole to his credit scored a wonder free kick in the 85th to tie it up (albeit I'm still unsure what the free was for..). Cracking contest.

My man Mate Dugandzic was outstanding for Melbourne. That kid will make it BIG time.

It amazes me how many 3-3 draws occur in the A-league

Anyone who has played for Melbourne Knights worries me, a bit.

I can feel another Simunic coming on here.

All around the fields, of Anfield road,
Where once we watched the King Kenny play and could he play!
Stevie Heighway on the wing, we had dreams and songs to sing,
Of the Glory round the fields of Anfield Road.

You're not wrong man, it's not exactly a rare occurance is it?

Well from what we've seen at A-League level, he has all the factors to make it. Skills, brains, ability. I've liked him ever since his debut against Adelaide where he managed a brace.

Archie who?

That's not what I meant. I meant he might go and play for Croatia in which case his citizenship should be ripped up and arrested upon return, like we should have done with Simunic.
