Salah could miss Huddersfield trip

Liverpool could be without Mohamed Salah for this weekend’s trip to take on Huddersfield Town.

The Egypt international has returned to Merseyside after picking up an injury while playing for his country in their 4-1 victory over Swaziland on Friday evening.

Salah suffered a muscle strain after scoring for his nation in the game and was ruled out of their fixture against the same opposition on Tuesday afternoon.

A statement from the Egyptian Football Association confirmed that the former Chelsea winger had been sent home from the squad in order to be assessed by the Liverpool medical team.

“Javier Aguirre has decided to let Mohamed Salah return to his club and not participate in the Swaziland match on Tuesday to give him more rest.” it reads.

“During the previous match against Swaziland, Salah complained of stress in the musculoskeletal muscle.

“He was examined medically and radiation was performed on the area of complaint after the game.” it concluded.

Liverpool supporters will hope that he can make a quick recovery in order to take his place in the side for the game on Saturday.
