Sunday's Anfield clash with Tottenham is in doubt following a request to the Premier League to postpone the game.

A statement on Liverpoolfc.tv said:

Liverpool Football Club have submitted an official request to the Premier League that Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash against Tottenham be called off for safety reasons.

Discussions with the Premier League are currently taking place and more news will be announced as soon as a final decision is made.

Like most Premier League grounds Anfield has undersoil heating so the pitch itself shouldn't be effected by the recent weather, but it is believed the club has fears for the safety of fans travelling to and from the stadium.
