Reds Look To Johnson Cover |
By EddieC, December 31st 2009.
Liverpool could bring in Greece right back Vasilis Torosidis to cover for the injured Glen Johnson.
Short of options at right back following the injury to Johnson - who is thought to be out for around three months after he tore medial ligaments in the 1-0 win at Aston Villa - The Daily Mail reports that Rafa Benitez has shown an interest in signing the Olympiakos defender.
Torosidis is said to be available for a knockdown fee, but Liverpool could face competition from Juventus and Atletico Madrid who are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old.
Similar to Johnson, Torosidis is an attack minded full-back who's not shy to get forward. Whilst usually deployed on the left he is comfortable playing on either flank.
