Liverpool Set For Jovanovic Capture

By EddieC, February 3rd 2010.

Liverpool look set to agree a deal to bring in Standard Liege striker Milan Jovanovic.

The 28-year-old Serbian is out of contract in the summer and looks set to move to Anfield in July on a three year deal.

Jovanovic has scored 68 times in 138 appearances for Standard Liege - winning two Belgian league titles - and has netted 17 times in 23 appearances for the Serbian national team, having only made his international debut less than three years ago.

Last year rivals Everton were chasing the striker but he knocked them back, labelling them a small club - a comment that is likely to stand him in good stead with many fans before he's even arrived.
