Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has refused to rule out playing in Serie A again one day.

The Switzerland international was speaking to Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport when he said that he “fine” at Anfield but could one day head back to the country he played in before moving to England.

“I had some good times there, and I couldn’t criticise Inter Milan ever.” he said.

“A lot of players joined in that winter, such as Podolski, Kovacic, myself, and a lot of changes were ongoing.

“Go back to Italy? I’m fine at Liverpool, but you never know.” he finished.

The former Stoke City man went on to warn Premier League champions Manchester City that Liverpool will be battling them for their title until the last ball is kicked this season.

“We’re going to be there until the end.” he continued.

“We don’t have to look to Man City, we just have to look to ourselves and try to give good performance on the pitch and win games.

“Every game has its own history and we have to look game to game. When you win games like this, we’re going to fight to the end for a lot of things.

“I think we just have to keep going, keep working hard and win games.” he finished.
