Paris Saint Germain remain keen on signing Fabinho from Liverpool.
The Brazil international only arrived at Anfield in the Summer after a deal worth around £40m was agreed with French club AS Monaco following the Champions League final in May.
But the Ligue 1 champions are reported to be hopeful of persuading Liverpool to do a deal that would see him head back across The Channel when the transfer window opens in January.
And representatives from the big spending Parisien club will reportedly hold talks with Liverpool officials when the clubs meet in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Fabinho made a slow start to life as a Liverpool player this season as manager Jurgen Klopp said that he wanted to give the Samba star plenty of time to get up to speed.
But he has started to play more often as time as gone on and has put in some impressive performances as he becomes more familiar with his team-mates and the tactics deployed by the German.
There have been claims in the media that he is not happy with the limited amount of time he has been afforded on the pitch so far this season – but Klopp has dismissed the idea of selling him and said that he is happy at Anfield.
PSG are said to be low on spending money thanks to FFP rules and are reported to be keen on doing a deal that would initially see Fabinho join them on loan for the remainder of the season.
Liverpool are highly unlikely to be open to any kind of exit for the midfielder.
