Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said that he “can’t be f****d” to read about Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp.
The Spaniard was speaking to students at the University of Liverpool when he made the joke about seeing the German’s name splashed all over newspapers.
He was asked how he liked to spend his downtime when he made the comment about the man he has been in direct competition with for the past six years after they were rivals in Germany.
“I don’t read.” he said.
“I start reading and before I know it, I am reading about Jurgen Klopp.
“I can’t be f****d with that!” he finished.
Guardiola took over at Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich back in 2012, when Klopp was manager of rivals Borussia Dortmund, before leaving for City in 2016.
He won the German title in the 2013/14 and 2014/15 campaigns after Klopp had steered Dortmund to the summit in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons prior to the former Barcelona manager arriving on the scene.
They are continuing their rivalry in English football, with their sides both aspiring to win the Premier League and Champions League competitions this season.
