Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners in the Premier League fixture at Anfield against Fulham. Here’s how the players rated…

Alisson Becker – His quick free-kick was key to first goal. Came off his line quickly when Sessegnon hit his great chance wide at 0-0. Distribution was good, but was fortunate to get away with a fumble when Schurrle shot at him. 7

Trent Alexander-Arnold – Played his part in the opener, but that was a rare positive for the youngster. Poor set piece delivery, crossing and passing. Needs to stop taking corners and free-kicks. Looks like he needs a break. 5

Joe Gomez – Probably his worst game of the season so far. Got caught square by Sessegnon for his chance, got away with a blatant booking for a foul on Mitrovic and then finally got the yellow for another foul on the striker after being caught napping. 5

Virgil Van Dijk – Solid enough from the stand-in captain. Ordered Alisson to take quick free-kick before opener. Will have wanted to have done better with the free-kick in the second-half. Got nutmegged in the first-half, but showed some skill in the second in and around their box. 6½

Andrew Robertson – Continues to be a model of efficiency. Was up and down the left flank and involved in almost all our best attacking moves, particularly after the break. Could have had a goal but for a decent stop. 8

Fabinho – Slowly but surely getting up to speed. Got away with what should have been a booking for a sloppy foul and probably played a few too many backwards passes. But linked well with his team-mates otherwise and made some good tackles. 7

Georginio Wijnaldum – Quiet afternoon for the Dutchman. Was not a surprise to see him hooked for the returning Jordan Henderson in the second-half. Tidy enough, but not one of his better performances. 6

Xherdan Shaqiri – Was always looking to spark an attack into life when in possession and took his goal very well. Has an obvious role to play as the man to link midfield and attack. 8

Sadio Mane – Some poor finishing and heavy touches saw him spurn chances to score in the first-half. Hit a lovely shot in the second period, which was saved well. Linked well with Robertson at times. 6

Roberto Firmino – Continues to be worryingly quiet. Didn’t get involved enough, despite a couple of decent throughballs for Salah and Mane. Is on a poor run of scoring form and never looked like changing that today. 5½

Mohamed Salah – Was the most threatening of the attacking trio. Took his goal well to open the scoring and was lively throughout. Won some free-kicks in dangerous positions thanks to his quick feet. 7½

Jordan Henderson – Returned to action following a spell out as a second-half substitute. Was tidy enough and played a little further forward as Fulham dropped deep and Fabinho covered. 6

James Milner – Came on for the last ten minutes or so for the impressive Shaqiri. Didn’t have much time or a lot to do with the game creeping towards an inevitable conclusion. 6

Naby Keita – Very late cameo off the bench for Fabinho. X
