Three Liverpool players have been called up to the England squad.
Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson are the three Reds selected by national coach Gareth Southgate for his squad as he prepares for a friendly against the United States and a UEFA Nations League match against Croatia soon after.
Reds captain Henderson has been out of action recently thanks to a hamstring injury, with the Champions League defeat against Red Star Belgrade coming too soon for the former Sunderland midfielder.
He is in a race against time to be available for selection before this weekend’s Premier League clash with Fulham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon before joining up with his international team-mates on Monday.
Gomez, meanwhile, has been nursing a knock and is fighting to prove his fitness for the return to domestic action at the weekend and to take his place in the Three Lions squad.
Alexander-Arnold has no injury concerns after being substituted, for Gomez, in the 2-0 loss against the Serbian champions on Tuesday evening.
Forward Daniel Sturridge has again been overlooked for selection after making a rare start, before being taken off at the break, in the Champions League clash this week.
The games will take place at Wembley on Thursday 15th November and Sunday 18th November.
