Liverpool winger Sadio Mane would fit in well at Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
That’s the claim being made by veteran manager Claude Le Roy, who is currently in charge of Togo, after the Frenchman defended Mane from criticism about his form for Senegal.
“Sadio is an excellent player and I tell you that all of Africa watches him play in the Premier League at the weekend as well as the Champions League.” he told Stades.
“However, a club is different to a national team. We often criticise players for not shining so much with the national team, but at the clubs, players know each other.
“All the time, the players see each other training together, whereas in the national team, they only see each other periodically.
“He’s a great player. He’d have his place at Manchester United, at Barcelona or at Real Madrid.” he finished.
It is a bizarre claim to make, given that Mane played and scored in the Champions League final for Liverpool last season with United being knocked out by in the last sixteen following a poor performance against Sevilla.
The former Southampton man is also a part of the side challenging Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table this season, with United struggling for form in mid-table.
Le Roy might want to reassess how he sees English football.
