Liverpool youngster Trent Alexander-Arnold has stated his belief that the squad can compete on all fronts this season.
The England international has been a part of the defensive improvements made by the team over the course of the year and he believes that is evidence that challenges for both the Premier League and Champions League can happen.
“I wouldn’t say there’s a standout one.” he said.
“We’re a good enough squad to be challenging for both. We’re not going to rule one out or put one to the side.
“They’re both as important as each other. It’s hard to pick one, so I’d say both.” he added.
Alexander-Arnold has gone a long way to making the right-back spot his own after some impressive form over the past year or so and he believes keeping the goals out is crucial.
“We want to concede as little as possible.” he continued.
“We still got to a Champions League final and we’ve got a few points in this campaign, so we’re not in the worst position possible.
“We’re still getting wins, and the three points are the most important thing. We know there’s still a lot to give and always room for improvement.
“That’s something we’re all excited about. We need to strive towards getting better, putting in better performances and getting towards our full potential.” he added.
Alexander-Arnold sat out the draw against Manchester City and victory over Huddersfield Town recently, but he is not concerned and believes he will soon be given another chance.
“Obviously it’s world class club and there’s competition for places.” he continued.
“I think it’s wrong if you go into a game and starting week in, week out.
“It’s only right that there’s rotation and to keep everyone on their toes is the best way to get the best out of people.” he finished.
