Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has welcomed the increased competition for places in the squad this season.
Manager Jurgen Klopp brought in midfield duo Naby Keita and Fabinho in big money deals this Summer and it has seen performances improve in the centre of the park so far during the campaign.
And Holland international Wijnaldum, who has been praised for his improvements by many supporters, has said that he is happy to see quality added to the squad as it means he will play better football.
“I think it’s good that there are a lot of good players here as when you train with them it makes you automatically get better.” he said.
The former Newcastle United man went on to explain just how vigilant and demanding Klopp is and said that while it can make life “difficult” for the players, it makes them “better”.
“Sometimes it’s difficult for the players because he sees everything and he always has an opinion about everything, but he only does it to make you better.” he continued.
“He is also a very emotional coach during the game and even during training.
“But I’m very happy with that because since I’ve been here he has made me a better player and I don’t think I speak only for myself but also for the other players.” he finished.
