Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised the impact made by Roberto Firmino against Paris Saint Germain.
The Brazil international came off the bench late on against the French champions and went on to score the winning goal to seal a deserved 3-2 victory for the Reds.
It was the opening game of the Champions League campaign and the twenty-six year old was a doubt thanks to an eye injury sustained in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Spurs at Wembley.
And he was singled out by the boss for his impact after missing training on Monday thanks to the poke in the eye from Belgian international Jan Verthongen.
“To come off the bench after his injury at the weekend is incredible really.” Klopp said.
“I loved his goal celebration!
“I have never seen him as fit as he is in the moment. Then you can bring Bobby Firmino on and that helps a lot.
“I can’t say enough good things about Bobby.” he finished.
Liverpool supporters will much the same about the former Hoffenheim star after another excellent performance for the club.
