Crystal Palace have made a bid to sign Divock Origi from Liverpool.
That is the claim being made in a report by Spanish outlet eldesmarque.com, who are saying that the London based club have put in a bid worth £18m for the forward.
Palace have been linked with a move to sign another Liverpool striker in the form of Danny Ings, but Southampton are now said to be leading the race to sign the twenty-six year old.
And so it would make plenty of sense if Palace manager Roy Hodgson, a former Liverpool boss, has switched his sights over to doing a deal to sign Origi instead.
Palace are looking to add another striker to their squad this Summer and Origi has previously shown that he is capable of scoring goals in the Premier League.
He spent last season on loan at German club VfL Wolfsburg, where he managed to score just six goals in a disappointing campaign, and has not improved his form in preseason.
A stumbling block to any deal could be that Liverpool are reported to be seeking a fee of £27m to let Origi make an exit before the transfer window closes.
