Napoli are the latest club to be linked with a move for Simon Mignolet.
The Belgium international is keen to make an exit from Anfield this month after finding himself dropping down the pecking order to third-choice ahead of the new campaign.
That’s because Liverpool paid a world record fee to bring Brazil number one Alisson Becker in from AS Roma a few weeks ago and that will see Mignolet’s prospects severely limited.
The Daily Mail are claiming that the Italian club are interested in doing a deal to take the former Sunderland goalkeeper to Serie A before their transfer window closes.
They won’t need to do a deal before 5pm on Thursday as that is the deadline for English clubs to make signings ahead of the new campaign – not sales.
So he could find himself still at Anfield beyond the Premier League transfer window closing, which would only mean that he cannot make a switch to another English club.
As it stands, he is not of interest to any domestic clubs anyway.
