Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella could sign for Celtic this week.
That is according to Goal correspondent Neil Jones, who is reporting that Brendan Rodgers is eager to be reunited with the Spaniard at the Scottish champions.
The former Reds boss handed the youngster his debut all the way back in 2015 and he has failed to push on and stake a claim for a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s side since.
Norwegian giants Rosenborg had a bid worth a potential £3.5m accepted by Liverpool for Chirivella last week, but he rejected the chance to join them and remains at the club.
They no longer have the prospect of Champions League football on offer thanks to a defeat against Celtic in the preliminary qualifying rounds and the Scottish champions will face AEK Athens next for a place in the group stage.
Chirivella is also said to be attracting attention from Championship sides Swansea City and Nottingham Forest, according to Jones, but Celtic being in the Champions League is likely to sway things in their favour.
Liverpool are likely to accept a bid from Celtic if they match the terms on offer from Rosenborg.
