Barcelona are again being linked with a move to sign Simon Mignolet from Liverpool.
That’s according to Sky Sports, who are reporting that their sources have informed them that the Belgium international is of interest to the Catalan giants.
Mignolet has already been heavily linked with a move to Turkey to join SuperLig side Besiktas, but an offer from the Camp Nou could persuade him to head there instead.
He is not being lined up to replace current first-choice at the La Liga champions, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but to be backup to the Germany international instead.
Current second-choice Jasper Cillessen looks to be on his way out of the club after failing in his attempt to dislodge the former Borussia Monchengladbach stopper from the starting eleven.
It remains to be seen whether Mignolet will opt to head to Spain to swap one substitute bench for another or if he will decide to take up the less lucrative offer from Turkey instead.
Either way, it looks certain that his five year stay at Anfield is about to come to an end after manager Jurgen Klopp signed Alisson Becker from AS Roma for a world record fee.
Mignolet had already lost out to Loris Karius in the battle to be number one last season, so his days appear to be numbered with the club.
