New Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has spoken about his first day of training with his team-mates.
The Brazil international flew into France to join up with the squad after they had completed the tour of the US with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over rivals Manchester United.
And the former AS Roma stopper said that he had been looking forward to linking up with the team after his extended holiday following the World Cup in Russia.
“It has been a great day which I had been looking forward to.” he told Liverpoolfc.com
“I’ve had a good few resting days with my family but we all couldn’t wait to get the new season under way soon.
“It’s only my first day and I feel at home already.” he added.
He is expected to make his first appearance in a Liverpool shirt when Italian side Napoli provide the opposition in the next preseason friendly, taking place on Saturday in Dublin.
Alisson will take to the field at Anfield as a Liverpool player for the first time on August 7th when another Italian club in the form of Torino arrive for a friendly – the first home one in four years.
