Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is considering his future at the club.
The twenty-five year old has admitted that the signing of fellow stopper Alisson Becker from AS Roma, in a world record deal, has surprised him and he cannot say where he will be playing this season.
He was shocked by the signing as he was reportedly given no indication that manager Jurgen Klopp was looking to bring in a new number one goalkeeper for the upcoming campaign.
“Of course that’s not perfect for me, but I cannot say much more about that either.” he is quoted by the Telegraph.
“I do not know that, I cannot say what I’m doing right now, there’s still some time left.” he added.
Karius has played in all the five preseason friendlies so far, but he now looks on course to very much be second choice behind Brazil international Alisson following his £66.9m arrival.
The former Mainz man also took to his social media to post a picture depicting a message to those fans who have been sending him abusive posts since he made his infamous errors in Kiev during the Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid.
“To those who take joy in seeing other people fail or suffer, I feel for you. Whatever it is that’s happening in your life to hold this much anger and hate, I pray that it passes and good things come to you.” he said.
A move away from Anfield could be just what he needs, if not for the sake of his career but his mental health.
