Could Bayern make Lovren move?

New Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac could be interested in signing Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren.

The former Croatia international praised his compatriot for his performances in the World Cup as they booked their place in Sunday’s final against France this week with a win over England in the semi-finals.

“For me, Lovren is playing at a level similar to Jerome Boateng at the 2014 World Cup.” Kovac said.

Kovac recently took over the reigns from caretaker manager Jupp Heynckes at the Bavarian club and is considering reshaping the squad he inherited at the Allianz Arena.

And his praise of Lovren could indicate that he is considering making a move to take his countryman to Germany this Summer, following an upturn in form for the centre-back.

Liverpool supporters would likely be divided over whether an exit for Lovren would be a good or bad thing, as many have warmed to him following his increase in consistency in 2018.

But he will never win over others, with memories of his errors still fresh in mind.
